Dr Radhakrishnan A P is a leading Diabetologist in Palakkad. He started his illustrious career as a Specialist-Endocrinology and  Diabetology with Amrita Institute of Medical Science, Cochin, Kerala in early 2000 before moving to Goodhope Hospital and University, Birmingham, U.K. He acted as a Principal investigator in T2DM & ACS with T2DM clinical trials. His list of presentation includes Poster presentation (ESICON) - THYROIDITIES, Poster presentation  of Vanishing bone disease – Hyperparathyroidism & Vitamin B12 deficiency  in an international conference.

In the year 2007, Dr. Radhakrishnan laid the foundation of Palakkad Diabetic Centre, a multi- specialized clinic offering state of the art facilities and medical services dedicated towards treating Diabetes and its complications. A one-stop-destination for Diabetes, it’s primary objective is to provide quality health care services and medical support to diabetes-afflicted patients and their families.

Incase of a patient being diagnosed with diabetes, the diabetes educator guides the patient through the health implications related to the disease and his mode of treatment which is tailor-made to suit the patient’s needs. In severe cases an annual review assessment is also advised. In a short span, the centre already has notched up a few achievements to its credit. Some of these are:

- 1st insulin pump successfully attached to Type 1 patient in 2009.
- 1st CGMS was administered to patient in 2009 with success.
- Commencement of latest glucose monitoring device AGP (Ambulatory Glucose Profile) in the year 2016.
- Recognition of the centre for an international drug trial.

On the occasion of World Diabetes Day on Nov. 14th , the centre annually conducts camps and awareness programs for the general public and diet consultation is offered to diabetic patients by the nutrition department.
